How
it all began…….
Ever
since I was a child, I have always wanted a dog to call my own.
When I moved out of the house, finally my
dream could be fulfilled. I
wanted a German Shepherd bitch, but after I got one it was clear
that this breed was not for beginners. She was stubborn
with charming character, but we didn’t lose hope that we could
make her into an obedient dog and me into a half-decent dog owner.
After
this girl, I wanted something easier to handle, a dog that can be
everywhere, adaptive,
easy to care for, small and noble, and still remain a whole dog; a
dog to sit on the lap and to enjoy long wanderings, and naturally,
like the German Shepherd, a dog also suited for training classes. One
day, I saw the Miniature Pinscher owned by my friends. I did not
have to consider long before I knew that this was exactly the sort
of dog I was searching for. After extensive research about this
breed were we, “my friend and I,” ourselves agreed I should get
one.
In
autumn 1999, our first Miniature Pinscher came to the house… “Asko
vom Kösslbachtal.” For 10 months, he was the center of our lives
and was spoiled accordingly. Then in July 2000, Asko got a
playmate, “Jiny di Kristianden,” with the wish perhaps sometime to
raise puppies. In 2001, we got another bitch from Vienna, “Genia
von Schloß Berge.” The breeder of Genia was searching for a new
home for her mother, “Tara van de Doelaar,” because she was
closing her kennel. Ooooh my goodness, the Miniature Pinscher
fever had stricken us, so we had to also take Tara, we could not
just leave her behind….. ;o) ! Now our quartet was perfect.
Then
in 2002, we were so far into it that we needed a kennel name, and
because we live at the beautiful Achensee, this lake became the
namesake for our kennel “vom Camp Achensee.” The preparations for
breeding were set. We had completed the exhibitions. For 3 years I
spent time learning about the breed, about mating, puppy-rearing,
and everything else I could learn, until at last our long-awaited
A-Litter and, a week later, our B-Litter, was born.
By
now, over 50 puppies carry the name “vom Camp Achensee.” Our
house is now a little bit fuller. We have reached with our dogs already
the one or other title Austrian Youth Champion,
Austrian-Champion, Austrian-Doublechamp, BOB and Cacib, Federal
Youth Winner, Federal Winner. Not only of show
titles are we proud, it gladdens us even more that our puppy
buyers say they are pleased and fortunate with their dear “vom
Camp Achensee.”
