Miniature Pinscher

Breed - Info

The Miniature Pinscher is very much a versatile companion.  The breed is mostly described as a house and companion dog. However, despite his smallness, the Miniature Pinscher is also much more:  whether athletic dog or watch dog, therapy dog or lap dog, clown, playmate, comforter, and friend...... all these features make the Miniature Pinscher an all around good dog. Adaptability is only one of his strengths.

The Miniature Pinscher loves long wanderings. On mountain hikes, he can keep up with larger dogs. When jogging, cycling, skating, and hiking …. always you will find him wanting to be with you. In dog training people are amazed, because he does remarkably well, as he often stands at attention and is willing to learn more than other breeds. In agility competitions, the Miniature Pinscher is remarkably a team player.  By his nimbleness and quickness, he leaves the fastest dogs behind him. Some say the Miniature Pinscher hates the snow and water, but he actually loves playing in the snow and swimming, if he grows accustomed to these things at an early age.

In winter, our puppies play in the snow, and in summer, they are exposed to water. At 8 weeks old, some are already in the pond and learning to swim, under supervision. Every day they have play time, and our adult dogs are always present. In playing with people and animals, and while investigating his environment, the puppy learns to adapt to new situations well. Therefore it is important to have puppies play with visitors, and to meet with other dog owners regularly. The more the puppy and young dog gets to know "foreign people, dogs, town noises, children, restaurants, shopping centers, other animals... " the more easy and unproblematic are everyday situations for the dog later in his life......
